There is a soft layer that goes over the roof decking, next is the XPS expanded foam insulation board, next is a fiberglass board shown, next 1/2" sheet rock then the PVC fabric that is like the stuff used to make river rafts. You can see the short pipes that will be part of the snow retaining system.
A crane brings the materials to the roof. In this photo the XPS is being delivered.
